Z. Zakir, “On the consistency of the Oppenheimer–Snyder solution for a dust star. Reply to Marshall’s criticism,” Astrophysics and Space Science 363, 30 (2018).
Result stated in the paper
The paper analyzes an alternative treatment of the Oppenheimer–Snyder dust-star solution and then examines the standard solution in Schwarzschild coordinates. In the author’s interpretation, the stellar surface asymptotically freezes outside its gravitational radius and the internal layers also freeze near their own asymptotes, yielding a frozen-star (frozar) picture.
Relevance to the FROZAR portal
This 2018 article directly presents the frozar interpretation of the Oppenheimer–Snyder collapse solution in a peer-reviewed international journal. Later publications develop the internal structure, extensions and observable effects of frozars.
